Out & Back
Seven days in the Swedish Arctic.
For people who don’t switch off
by sitting still.
Who this trip is for
You're doing well, on paper. You've worked hard, followed the path, and it's going smoothly enough. People depend on you now. A business, a team, a family, or all three.
What isn't right is harder to name. Inside, you're strained. There's a tiredness you can't shake, and eight hours' sleep isn't touching it. Attention has become scattered. You pick up your phone without deciding to.
You've done the nice hotels, a week of meditation isn't your bag, silence isn't the answer for this.
There's a quiet instinct inside that says...that stepping away properly - is the thing you actually need. Because you can't see the shape of a thing from inside it. Not to escape your life. A true reset. Go far enough out and you come back seeing it clearly.

What is it
Seven days above the Arctic Circle, on the edge of Sarek. You travel by snowmobile, cabin to cabin, going further out as the week goes on. Roger and his team host it on their own ground, and George runs it with them.
Some days are movement. Hours on a machine, distance, weather, a scale that's hard to describe. Others barely move at all. Ice, fire, a knife and a piece of wood, the sauna and then the lake.
The contrast is the point.
It isn't a retreat and it isn't an expedition. It's a week where the pace is set by the place instead of by you.
At a glimpse
The edge of Sarek
One of the last true wildernesses in Europe. No roads, no villages, no lights.
Sámi hosted
On their own ground, in their own words. Not a cultural add-on.
Cabin to cabin by snowmobile
Real backcountry, rarely reached unless you know the country.
4 days without signal
Experience a true digital detox.
The old skills, used not demonstrated
Ice fishing, smoking your own food, a knife and a piece of wood.
Return to true simplicity
Stripping things back to just what you need.
Fire, sauna, and the lake
Then the sauna again. Aurora more often than not.
It carries on after you fly home
The weeks afterwards are part of it, not an afterthought.
The week, day by day
The shape of the week, not a timetable. Weather and conditions have the final say.
Day one
North, and across the Arctic Circle. We meet you at Luleå and head north together, with a ceremony and fika at Jokkmokk as you cross the Circle. From Kebnats we go out by snowmobile to Pietsjaure. Sauna, dinner, and a proper talk through the week ahead.
Day two
Out on the machines, and a joik by the fire. Out on the snowmobiles with lunch cooked outdoors, and the afternoon is yours. In the evening, a joik and the story of this place from your hosts. Sauna, then dinner.
Day three
Further out. A longer day deeper into the country, lunch out on the snow. Back to Pietsjaure for the sauna, the lake and dinner.
Day four
On to Saltoluokta. A full day crossing country, lunch outside on the way. New cabin, new view, and dinner when we arrive.
Day five
The deep day, and the last supper. Out to the furthest point of the week. Lunch on the snow, an afternoon with nothing asked of you, and the closing dinner.
Day six
Back to Jokkmokk. The run back down for lunch. A free afternoon for the Ájtte museum, the silversmiths, or nothing at all. The night is in Jokkmokk or Luleå.
Day seven
Home. Breakfast and the transfer back to Luleå airport.
Why it works
Situation
Solution
Everything around you was designed to grab your attention
Go where only nature asks of you.
You pick up your phone without deciding to
There's no signal, so there's less temptation.
You haven't done one thing completely in years
Reading ice at speed leaves room for nothing else.
A thousand small decisions a day, all yours
Up here almost none of them are. Not the route, not the weather, not dinner.
Your problems are all the same shape
New ones. Cold, distance, a fire that won't take.
Everyone knows you by your role
Nobody in the wilderness knows what you do, and by day three nobody asks.

-
Fly into Luleå Airport. There are direct flights from Stockholm several times a day, taking a little over an hour.
We meet you at the airport on day one and drive north together, crossing the Arctic Circle at Jokkmokk. At Kebnats the road ends and the snowmobiles take over. On day seven we drive you back to Luleå for your flight home. Exact meeting and departure times are confirmed when you book.
-
Nights one to three: Pietsjaure, a mountain cabin with a sauna and the lake.
Nights four and five: Saltoluokta, further into the mountains on the edge of Sarek.
Night six: Jokkmokk or Luleå, before the trip home.
Warm, simple and comfortable. Not luxury, and not meant to be.
-
No snowmobile experience needed. Everyone gets a proper briefing and time on the machine before we go anywhere committing, and machines are shared two to a snowmobile.
You don't need to be an athlete. The days are long and cold, and you should be comfortable being outdoors for most of them. If you're unsure, talk to George and he'll tell you honestly.
-
March is deep winter with the light coming back. Expect temperatures well below freezing, often between -10°C and -25°C, and colder with the wind on the snowmobile. The days are long and bright, and the snow is at its best.
Clear nights often bring the aurora, though nobody up here will promise the weather.
-
All outdoor clothing and equipment for the cold is provided. Bring wool base layers (not cotton), a warm mid layer, warm socks, a hat and gloves for the evenings, comfortable clothes for inside, toiletries and any medication you take.
We go through the full list, and your sizes, on your first prep call.
-
Snowmobiles in deep cold carry risk, and we won't pretend otherwise. Everyone gets a proper briefing before we set off. The guides are local and generational, working ground they have known their whole lives.
Groups are small, the route flexes with the conditions rather than the plan, and we'll walk you through the evacuation procedures before you book, not after.
-
A €1,000 deposit secures your place, and the balance is due six weeks before departure. Monthly payment plans are possible.
To book, or just to ask a question, talk to George on WhatsApp. No forms, and nobody will chase you.
And it doesn't end at the airport
In the weeks after, we stay in touch and shape what you took from it into something that holds in your actual life. Tailored to you, not a worksheet.
It's the part guests say they didn't expect and end up valuing most.
Who this isn't for
Worth saying out loud. If you want luxury and a fixed schedule, there are better trips than this one and you'll enjoy them more. If you're chasing adrenaline, it isn't that either. And if what you actually want is a survival course, we run something else entirely - just ask and we'll point you to it.
What's left is a small group going somewhere hard to reach, and slowing down once they get there.
