Learn the fundamental skills to survive and thrive in the wilderness — then prove it to yourself. With guided experience to help you, learn the skills to feel capable in the wild, and then test it, and thrive.
Stories to you’ll have when you return home:
• Joining an expedition that through wild forest, including a lake crossing.
• Living and building a camp made with indigenous methods
• Skinning and Processing a full reindeer, and learning to preserve and cook it over the 5 days.
• Foraging wild mushrooms, plants or berries and learning the art of forest medicine
• Start a fire with a flint, firestick, or bowdrill
• Build a raft to cross a lake
The Experience
1. Learn
Hands-on training covering fire, shelter, foraging, tools, navigation, and wilderness mindset. Richard teaches it the way it has always been taught, by doing it.
2. Pick your tools
Before your trip begins, you select 10 items from our curated list including food, fishing rod, shelter, fire starting tool. Every choice matters. This is where strategy starts, and where your real learning begins.
3. Test your skills
You go out with a team. Learning in action - as hike to a remote camp. Here we learn the skills and knowledge essential to feeling confident in the wild - with Ötssjö Mountains as a backdrop

George spent several years living off-grid solo in the local area through summer and winter. George ensures guests are comfortable and content.

Richard has 20+ years experience teaching bushcraft, survival and traditional skills. He has lived off-grid with Claire in the local area for several years.

Claire steps in when requested for coaching and life guidance. She is a certified coach and can assist in processing over the camp fire.

No, Richard is an experienced guide and educator who can accomodate a mixed group of experienced levels. He has a style of ‘learning by doing’ which keeps things fun, safe and dynamic.

We can arrange pickup and dropoff to Östersund Airport / Train station
By air — Fly into Östersund Airport (OSD), served by direct flights from Stockholm Arlanda. Trondheim Airport (TRD) in Norway is an alternative for international arrivals.
By train — Direct trains from Stockholm to Östersund (approx. 6 hours). From Östersund, a car or taxi to the stables takes around 30 minutes. We can help arrange a transfer on request.
